Collecting your BMW.

A lasting experience.
Even if, at the end of the day, somebody is going to have to drive.

The first smile, the final wait, the first touch — at BMW Welt, collecting your new BMW becomes an unforgettable experience as well as an unforgettable day. Located in the centre of Munich, right at the heart of the brand, your new BMW is not going to be the only reason for your heart to start beating faster. The architecture of BMW Welt has been designed to allow for the best possible staging of the vehicle handover. And once all eyes are on your new BMW, your personal vehicle specialist will be by your side to explain your vehicle’s many highlights and its most important systems.

We offer three different collection options. Let your time, curiosity and even your appetite decide how you would like to spend your day.

BMW Welt, the BMW Museum, as well as the BMW Group Plant, allow you to dive deep into the BMW brand. Or perhaps you would like to take advantage of your collection and take a day trip to Munich or to the picturesque Bavarian surroundings? We’ve thought of that, too.

BMW Welt

BMW Welt.

It may sound hard to believe, but it shows that driving pleasure can be experienced off the road, too. The pioneering architecture designed by the architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au serves not only as the perfect stage for your vehicle collection, but also places all the different BMW Group brands in their own respective environments in a precise and eventful light.

BMW Museum.

The BMW Museum, close to the corporate headquarters and BMW Welt, was opened in 1973 and has since become one of the most-visited corporate museums in Germany. It consists of the now-landmarked, clearly visible rotunda — the so-called Museum Bowl— and the adjacent low-rise building. The permanent exhibition comprises more than 5,000 sqm with around 120 original vehicles. The temporary exhibitions cover a wide range of themes — from visionary and futuristic concepts to the BMW Art Cars.

BMW collection Bavarie

Bavarie.

The name says it all: the Bavarie restaurant is not just a meeting place for tourists, business customers and vehicle collectors, but also for contemporary Bavarian cuisine and the charm of a French brasserie. The ingredients are sourced from sustainable and local producers — even the fish is sourced from domestic lakes. Accordingly, the menu is — quite literally — naturally variable from season to season. The topic of sustainability also determines the overall design of the Bavarie as a high-class destination with an uncomplicated, feel-good atmosphere.

Special exhibitions.

The special exhibitions at the BMW Museum are laid out on an interdisciplinary basis and cover a wide range of themes; they may engage with future mobility solutions or present joint projects with world-renowned designers, such as Patricia Urquiola. And then, there are, of course, the unique vehicles that make up the BMW Art Cars Collection, designed by artists like Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Robert Rauschenberg and David Hockney, which continue to attract visitors from all over the world.
