BMW models are masterpieces. The BMW Art Cars are actually real works of art! Each one was designed by a world-famous artist. Whether it's Andy Warhol's BMW M1, Jenny Holzer and the BMW V12 LMR and the BMW 320i Turbo or Jeff Koon's BMW M3 GT2 – every single one has given its own signature artistic interpretation to the BMW design. In the permanent exhibition Art Cars at the BMW Museum discover BMW models as you haven't seen them before.

Art Car No. 11
Currently, you can find Art Car No. 11 in the exhibition, designed by A. R. Penck, who was born in Dresden. The BMW Z1 is a work of art in itself. With its at-the-time radically new design language and vertically-sliding retractable side doors, the BMW Z1 remains a milestone in BMW automotive history to this day. Penck was inspired by cave paintings and created abstract codes, with the interpretation entirely left to the imagination of the viewer.
