Pioneer of a new vehicle category, epitome of driving pleasure in the segment, best-selling premium automobile worldwide: these are the most important milestones in the extraordinary career of the BMW 3 Series. It began 50 years ago with the presentation of the successor to the legendary BMW 02 Series and is now in its seventh generation. In 2025, the BMW 3 Series celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The Exhibition @ BMW Welt.
There will be an exhibition in the auditorium at BMW Welt from August 2 to 31, at which all 7 generations of BMW 3 Series will be on display.
The exhibition is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., during the specified period.
"Dreitage".
To mark this occasion, “Dreitage” in front of the BMW Museum and BMW Welt will take place on:
- August 8 and
- September 19
from 5 pm to 8 pm. Dreitage is a pop-up meeting aimed at all BMW 3 Series owners to celebrate 50 years of 3 Series.
50 years BMW Art Cars.
A new exhibition also awaits you at the BMW Museum. Until February 1, 2026, the BMW Museum will be presenting three 3-Series Art Cars:
- the BMW M3 GTR by Sandro Chia,
- the BMW M3 by Michael Jagamara Nelson and
- the BMW M3 by Ken Done.
The exhibition at the BMW Museum - the home of the BMW Art Cars when they are not on the road worldwide - is part of the current BMW Art Car World Tour, the largest exhibition project in the collection's 50-year history to date.
