BMW i stands for a fresh start that is both visionary as well as revolutionary. The same applies to the legendary Memphis movement of the 1980s. With loud colours, expressive patterns and unusual materials, the designers of the Memphis Group defied all the existing rules. Their vibrant furniture and lamps swiftly took the world by storm.
A sensational new edition is now bringing BMW i and Memphis design together. The BMW i3 and BMW i8 MemphisStyle models are the result of a collaboration between Lapo Elkann (and his Garage Italia), Adrian van Hooydonk (Head of BMW Group Design) and Michele De Lucchi (founding member of the Memphis Group).
The BMW Museum is presenting the BMW i MemphisStyle models in a special exhibition that offers insight into the exciting and entertaining Memphis design cosmos.
Visitors may look forward to a brightly coloured exhibition and the infectious, fantastical inventiveness of the Memphis designers.
