The tradition-steeped auctioneers Bonhams expect the first offers to come in from BMW enthusiasts.
Bonhams are returning to the BMW Museum. In October the renowned auction house will hold a single-marque auction, at which cars, motorcycles and memorabilia of the BMW brand will be offered exclusively. The items for sale include the Bertone-designed BMW 2800 CS “Spicup” from 1969, the original BMW 3.0 CSL “Batmobile”, which won the 24-hour Spa-Francorchamps race in 1976, and the BMW M1 Procar that was driven by Dieter Quester.
The head of the European car division at Bonhams, Philip Kantor, is looking forward to a successful event: “BMW has everything one expects from one of the best makes of car in the world – a long history of innovations and attractive products, racing successes and, of course, superb engines. “
Previously, in 2009, the BMW Museum acted as host when Bonhams auctioned the world’s largest private collection of BMW motorcycles, owned by Willy Neutken. On that occasion a BMW R 32 changed hands for the record price of close to 100,000 euros.
The auction starts at: 2 pm
Entrance fee: € 6
