Review 20112011 – A Year of Superlatives for BMW Welt and the BMW Museum.
2011 was an incredibly successful year for the BMW Welt and the BMW Museum. Both attracted record numbers of visitors. At large, approximately 2.8 million guests visited the exclusive locations in Munich.

The future of mobility at BMW Welt.Setting out into a new world of visionary mobility – With its agile megacity vehicle BMW i3 Concept and the breath taking sports car BMW i8 Concept, BMW is going new ways in the field of alternative, sustainable drive concepts. The BMW i3 Concept can be seen from 17 December at BMW Welt.

16. September - 30 December 2011One Origin. Two Originals. The new BMW 1 Series at BMW Welt.From September 16th to December 30th, BMW Welt will be presenting the two versions of the BMW 1 Series in the northern section of the automobile exhibition in the Plaza. Be it the BMW 1 Series with Urban Line or the BMW 1 Series with Sport Line, visitors will be able to familiarise themselves hands-on with the features and innovations of the new models.
2 August 2011World record: over 300,000 visitors in July.BMW Welt remains the top tourist attraction in Bavaria. With over 300,000 guests, July 2011 saw the highest number of visitors since inauguration in October 2007. Just shortly after opening, BMW Welt was able to report the record figure of 216,000 visitors in March 2008. In July 2011 this former record has now been topped by almost 45 per cent: 313,458 visitors were counted last month.
31 May - 3 July 2011Special exhibition at the BMW Museum: 50 years of New ClassIn 1961, the BMW 1500 was launched on the market. The company drove into a golden era with the new mid-range. Due to the 50th anniversary of the so-called New Class, the BMW Museum shows a special exhibition from 31 May until 03 July. You can see different models for free at the preview section not far from the entrance.
11 - 20 June 2011Play golf in unusual surroundings: against the backdrop of BMW Welt The BMW International Open is always a huge attraction; every year, around 60,000 swarm into the Eichenried Golf Club, as it plays host to the only professional golf tournament to be held in Germany. In the run-up, on June 11-20, BMW Welt invites all golf fans to the golf practice area at the north entrance to BMW Welt to have a go at swinging the club themselves.
3 May - 11 July 2011100 years of "Schorsch" MeierOne of the great protagonists in the history of BMW would have reached the age of 100 years recently. Georg Meier was known by everyone simply as Schorsch and he was one of Germany’s most popular sporting stars during his racing years. The BMW Museum shows a special exhibition featuring motorcycles and pictures of Meier until 11 July 2011.
27 AprilThe world’s fastest pickupUnique: BMW M GmbH develops the world’s fastest pickup. Drive and suspension technology from the BMW M3 – comprehensive testing completed on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife – 420 hp and 450 kg load capacity. Visitors can see the pickup from April 29 until May 12 at the BMW Welt.
15 AprilJoint advertising campaign for the BMW Welt, Museum and Munich Plant.BMW Welt, the BMW Museum and BMW Plant Munich have come together under a single roof for the first time as part of an image campaign. Visitors of all ages will find themselves captivated by the multi-faceted experience on offer, which takes in the past, present and future of the BMW brand. The three buildings host an array of fascinating exhibitions, tours, concerts, readings and much more besides almost every day of the year.
10 AprilBMW Welt Jazz Award 2011Nils Wogram’s Root 70 ensemble are the winners of the BMW Welt Jazz Award 2011. “Two horns and more“ was the slogan of this year’s competition, which featured a total of six bands performing their own musical compositions at BMW Welt.
