The first temporary exhibition:
BMW Concept Vehicles.

The famous circular building of the BMW Museum - the "Bowl" - stages attractive temporary exhibitions. The first exhibition to be staged in the new concept is dedicated to Concept Vehicles of the BMW brand. Concept Vehicles from BMW have never been presented to the public providing an overview in this constellation.

The exhibition gives a review from the first concept studies in the 1930s to the present day. This gives visitors a perspective on future engineering and design developments.

Concept Vehicles are produced outside series development. They are deployed as a platform for new ideas, and visionary concepts take shape for the first time. They frequently provide provoking and unusual proposals for mobility of the future. Most concepts remain one-off models and never go into series production. However, individual style elements or solutions involving technical details are often subsequently incorporated within vehicle concepts.

The exhibition presents eleven BMW Concept Vehicles as innovation platforms and shows them in the context of the period when they were created. Visitors also find out about the distinguishing features of a concept vehicle and why BMW is dedicated to this particular aspect of mobility.

The exhibition also highlights the influence exerted by social environment and trends on the development of concept vehicles and how these aspects affect the development of series vehicles. It also emerges how the expectations become increasingly sophisticated over the years.
