Become a fan to stay informed, to win tickets for events and to see a lot of pictures from the BMW Welt and the BMW Museum.
If you thought carnival only really happened in Rio and the Rhineland, you were wrong! The third carnival stronghold is Munich. Or to be more precise: BMW Welt. During the afternoon, the Plaza will be transformed into a fantasy-filled wonderland for children, in the evening it becomes a hot party location for adults.
From 2 pm, artists of the theatre and stilts ensemble "Dulce Compania" invite children and their parents to join them on a trip into "WONDERLAND". To stirring music they will stroll through the BMW Welt Plaza in fantastic costumes on amazingly high stilts, giving out balloon figures and sweets to the children. Face painting is offered for the young visitors and they can even make their own carnival masks.
The carnival party itself begins at 8:30 pm in the BMW Welt Auditorium. It will include show features by Dulce Compania, Live-Acts and dance sounds from DJ Ali Escobar. Last year, hundreds of carnival fans partied through to the wee small hours. Bavarian Fasching fans have the opportunity to demonstrate that Munich is not so far from Rio, Cologne or Mainz on the carnival map. At least as far as the atmosphere is concerned.
