In the vibrant Barcelona jazz scene, pianist Agustí Fernández has been one of the leading explorers of sound ever since he became a professional musician at the age of 13. The Mallorca-born stylist has founded several orchestras here, he has directed a number of Catalan music festivals, worked for the stage, film, TV and in puppet theatre and has collaborated with some of the most important choreographers of the Spanish dance scene. He teaches at the Catalan College of Music and has been involved in over 50 CD productions. For 16 years he worked closely with pianist colleague Carles Santos and in 2003 Fernández was the first Spanish ECM musician to play with the Evan Parker Electro-Acoustic Ensemble.

Since 2005 he has concentrated heavily on the Aurora Trio with British bass player Barry Guy and drummer Ramón López - himself a figurehead of the Barcelona music scene. A multiple award-winning formation, the three work here on a very suggestive new jazz style reduced to minimal structures.

Each concert takes place on a Sunday from 11 am to 1.30 pm in the Double Cone of BMW Welt.
