A glittering welcome to 2011:
New Year’s Eve celebrations at BMW Welt

More than 2,500 guests saw in the new year at BMW Welt, partying away into the small hours. In partnership with Radio Gong 96.3, BMW Welt had staged a “Night of Colours” that embraced two parties in one. At the Radio Gong 96.3 New Year’s Eve party in the auditorium, guests let their hair down on the dance floor to the sounds of DJ master Karsten Kiessling. Meanwhile, one storey higher on the Premiere level normally reserved for customers taking delivery of their new cars, those attending the BMW Welt New Year’s Eve Gala were whisked off on a cultural and culinary journey to Brazil.
The Brazilian dance and music show “Aquarelos do Brasil” provided sparkling entertainment, while DJ legend John Munich served up appropriate sounds from the decks and an exclusive buffet beckoned with mouthwatering Brazilian fare.
The high point of the evening was the laser show at midnight that ushered in an appearance by pop duo Weather Girls, known for such international hits as “It’s Raining Men”.
Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of BMW AG, made sure to join in the New Year’s Eve fun: “We have 500 guests up here and more than 2,000 downstairs. The event sold out in a matter of days. I believe BMW Welt is at the heart of Munich, making it the ideal platform for such fantastic events.” Thomas Muderlak, Head of BMW Welt, couldn’t agree more: “The feedback we got was sensational. People were just blown away by it all. I think Munich can look forward to the next New Year’s Eve celebrations at BMW Welt in 2011.”
