BMW Welt in concert.

Bernd Lhotzky, who comes from Lake Tegernsee, is one of the world’s foremost Harlem Stride pianists – a solo piano style that requires not just a mastery of the art of improvisation, but also a particular anatomy of the hands. And although his extensive repertoire also includes classical music, his heart beats for the old masters of the Twenties: James P. Johnson, Willie “The Lion” Smith and Fats Waller.

“The pianist is an event in himself”, wrote the Stuttgarter Zeitung about the young Stefan Laux. Today Stefan Laux still enjoys immersing himself in the music of Franz Schubert and the German literature of the 19th and 20th centuries. He lends poems a voice, gives poetry a melody. His repertoire comprises virtually the complete Lied literature of composers from Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, through Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Wolf, Schoenberg, Berg, Webern and Eisler, all the way to contemporary modern music.

Admission to the concerts is free of charge.
