THE MOST POWERFUL LETTER IN THE WORLD.

BMW M and BMW Individual at BMW Welt.

The legendary "M" is the "most powerful letter in the world" and stands for dynamism, top-class driving performance figures and pure adrenaline - in other words it is aimed at those for whom dynamic performance alone is not dynamic enough. The origins of BMW M lie in the brand's involvement in motor racing and its roots are clearly visible.

This is also brought out at BMW Welt. Here BMW M is presented in bold style in the North Wing of the Plaza - in the extension of the BMW exhibition. Dark asphalt, tyre stacks and curbs create a race track atmosphere for visitors.

Superiority at its very best.

At the centre of the display the M automobiles stand in a slightly staggered line-up as if at the start of a race. Once you have fuelled up on adrenaline here, you can to on to test your own speed in a BMW automobile at the games console, or else choose your favourite in a virtual motor racing card game.

BMW Individual – a combination of sophistication and perfection

There's nothing more exclusive than this? Oh yes there is. On the same podium you will find BMW Individual, the combination of sophistication and perfection. It is this exquisite exclusivity that makes BMW Individual so unique: here the choice of material is more selective than in any other automobile. The perfect composition of every last detail fulfils the high aspirations of BMW Individual: to be the most exclusive way to drive a BMW.

40 years of BMW M – a success story.

BMW Motorsport GmbH was founded by BMW in 1972 in order to cluster all its motor racing activities within a wholly-owned subsidiary. In the years that followed it achieved countless victories for BMW. Its brief also included the construction of highly sporty BMW automobiles. The supersports car BMW M1 saw its debut in 1978: it was the first ever BMW M automobile, establishing a tradition which defines every BMW M model to this day. In order to ensure that the name reflected the expanded business areas of the BMW subsidiary – BMW M Automobiles, BMW Individual and BMW Driver Training - it was changed to BMW M GmbH on August 1st 1993. Since that time, motor racing activities have been the responsibility of the specially created division BMW Motorsport.
